Don Kurtz received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in experimental psychology, and his master’s degree from New Mexico State University in bilingual education. For over 20 years he was a professor in the Languages and Linguistics Department at New Mexico State, where he coordinated the department’s foreign studies program.

He has been active politically throughout his adult life, especially in grassroots organizations, and in support of labor, environmental, and human rights issues. He is a founding member of the Progressive Voter Alliance in Southern New Mexico, and serves as chair of its Executive Committee. His experience in organizing citizen involvement in campaigns and initiatives provides a valuable complement to the VoterTouch electoral strategy.
